First of all, am I the only one who found the irony in "...their first albums were great. Now they basically suck. My favorite was the Green Album"? Anyway... They are most definitely not the best band ever, but holy crap, they could make some great music when they really wanted to. I mean, it's not life-changing, inventive, "oh my God, THIS is what music is supposed to be like!" kind of music. But you know what it is? It's pop music. And you have to give them credit for releasing three pop music gems (The two self-titled albums and Pinkerton.) I must say that Maladroit tends to suck a whole lot, but the other three - even the Green Album - are brilliant for what they are. But I think a lot of their best music was never released. I was so excited when I heard they released a B-sides CD. I still haven't gotten it yet, but I will, and it will be a happy, happy day. "You Gave Your Love to Me Softly" is a beautiful song. On a semi-related note, let's hear it for the Space Twins. Anyone who doesn't like the Space Twins deserves to have their brains eaten by alligators. (Sorry this was so freaking long. I'm in the middle of a really intense debate with a really intense friend about weather or not Weezer is the *best* band ever, or really really good. Whatever.
