I have a song stuck in my head
03.31.04 (4:16 pm) [edit]
So, I decided to blog about it. It's "Hey!" by the Pixies. Hey! Been trying to meet you. mmm..
Hey! Must be a devil between us, or whores in my head, whores at the door, whore in my bed. But hey! Where... have you... been...? If you go I will surely die. We're chained...
Uh. Said the man to the lady... mmm Uh. Said the lady to the man she adored and the whores like a choir... Uh! Uh! All night- and Mary ain't you tired of this? Uh. Is the sound that the mother makes when the baby breaks... We're chained...
What do you think?

Saddle Creek Records
03.28.04 (9:16 am) [edit]
Alot of indie bands are very much the same. You get one that just wants you to know who they are, ones that are there for your entertainment, and then you have Saddle Creek bands. Saddle Creek Records is based in Omaha with quite a list of good bands. Saddle Creek, number one, is very consistant. I have not found one song from Saddle Creek that I don't like. From Conor Oberst's poetic indie god lyrics to Tim Kashers musings of being lost in life. From Orenda Fink and Maria Taylor's total control of emotions to Todd Baechle's incredible sense of electronic music and such. Not a single Saddle Creek band is bad. Not one. The current bands are: Azure Ray, Bright Eyes, Broken Spindles, Cursive, The Faint, The Good Life, Mayday, Now It's Overhead, Rilo Kiley, Son Ambulance, and Sorry About Dresden. There is also Desaparecidos listed...but they apparently broke up or something :( There are also good bands in their archive like Commander Venus, Gabardine, Lullaby For The Working Class, and Park Ave. (only two of which I've heard, though: Lullaby Fot The Working Class and Gabardine). I highly recommend any one of these bands to anyone looking to get into indie music. Or just anyone who wants to listen to real music. Whichever. Until next time...

DAFT PUNK REVIEW
03.22.04 (6:44 pm) [edit]
Woot! I should have reviewed this a long time ago. If any of you like techno, or you like crazy guitars, or you like tackey love songs, this band is for you. The album that I own is called "Discovery" and is so freaking awesome. It starts with the normal techno song that you would hear on like a commercial or something. The second song is this fantastic crazy song, it starts with normal techno stuff. But a minute in, one lead guitar comes in and plays this so awesome guitar solo for like a minute alone untill the other inturments come and and stuff. Fourth song (Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger) will have you singing for literaly weeks the same verse. Song seven, my brother claims, has the best bass ever in a techno song (and we have a pretty good subwoofer, that really likes The Faint). And the rest follows suit with tackey yet awesome techno songs. You will like it. I do. Anyway...

Falling Up
03.07.04 (2:19 pm) [edit]
I went to a concert recently and saw a new band to the world of alternative christian music, Falling Up. I don't know much about the band, but they kicked butt. That's probly the only reason that stupid concert wasn't a waste of my time (yeah, I finally agree with Carson on something). Anyway, the singer screamed amazingly and he just EXPLODED on stage. They were somperable to Thursday during their "Full Collapse Era" if you will. Fantastic vocals, interesting guitar riffs, sweet bass lines, and a pretty A-OK drummer. Check out anything about this band you can. There.
